2 teenage boys arrested in theft of Miami-Dade police cruiser

On Thursday, 2 teenage boys were taken into custody after a Miami-Dade police cruiser got stolen.

On 25th of April, the vehicle was reported stolen from the officer’s home in the area of Southwest 276th Street and 167th Avenue.

The next day when it was reported stolen, it was found submerged in a lake in the area of Southwest 336th Street and 192nd Avenue.

16-year-old Emilio Galban admitted that he stole the police vehicle and a bulletproof vest that was present inside the car, shown by an arrest report.

16-year-old Giovanny Reyes said that he was saving the vest in his bedroom for Galban and Galban accepted that he gave the vest to Reyes. Both were charged in the case.

Reyes was taken into custody on charges of involving in stolen property and being an accessory to a third degree felony. Galban was taken into custody on charges of grand theft of a vehicle.

The both teens studied at Keys Gate Charter School in Homestead and they both were transferred to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
