Wellington Woman Accused of DUI Hit and Run

A Wellington woman whose BAC was almost double the legal limit hit a person with her car and kept driving.

The woman’s SUV was found by authorities in a 7-Eleven parking lot, and had extensive front end damage and a blown front driver’s-side tire. The woman was still sitting in the driver’s seat with the engine running.

The woman told deputies she drank about three glasses of wine and one bar, and then had a few more drinks at another restaurant. She said she remembered hitting a vehicle, but not a person. She also could not explain why she left the scene. Deputies recorded her BAC at nearly .16 and .15. She now faces DUI and hit-and-run charges.
