Man Arrested After Nearly Running down Police Officer

After nearly running over an officer, an Orange Park man led police on a 14-mile chase along 1-95.

According to an article in the Sun Sentinel, police tried to pull over a man for running a stop sign. The man slammed on his brakes and one office got out of the police car to speak with him. The man then took off, almost running down the officer. Police had to use a spike strip to get him to stop. A K-9 unit found a bag of marijuana in his car.

The man now faces charges of aggravated assault on an officer, fleeing, resisting and drug charges.
