Cop Accused of Stealing from Jewelry Store After Answering Burglary Call

A police officer is accused of stealing a $795 watch after responding to a burglary call at a jewelry store.

The nine-year veteran of the Pembroke Pines Police Department faces charges of grand theft and was placed on suspension with pay pending the outcome of the investigation.

The burglary took place after two suspects broke into the store through its roof. The robbery was caught on surveillance tape and an audible alarm alerted police. Police did not release the surveillance video allegedly showing the officer taking the watch.
