On Tuesday, two years after the incident occurred, Derick Daniels of Pembroke Pines was arrested on a vehicular homicide charge in the 2011 death of Debbie Lynn Gass.

According to an article in the Sun Sentinel, the passengers in Daniels Chevrolet Suburban the day of the crash described him as swerving and deliberately trying to hit other vehicles on the road. A blood sample taken after the incident showed that Daniels had cocaine in his system. He ran into Gass 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier and she dies two days after the crash.

As a condition of his pre-trial release, Daniels must wear an ankle monitor and be tested for drugs.
