Man Accused Of Trying To Sell $770 Worth Of Heroin In Supermarket

A 21-year-old man is accused of trying to sell $700 worth of heroin at a supermarket.

Ricco Cintron had previously sold undercover detectives marijuana and heroin. He agreed to meet one of the detectives at a Winn-Dixie supermarket with $700 worth of heroin and $100 worth of ecstasy pills. While en route to the transaction, he was stopped by detectives in an unmarked car.

An altercation ensued between Cintron and the police, where Cintron yelled that he was not going to go to jail. One Fort Lauderdale police officer suffered a broken hand in the struggle. Cintron was also able to remove a police radio from the belt of one of the officers. Eventually, Cintron was detained and taken to Broward's Main Jail. He faces charges of trafficking heroin, distributing/delivering ecstasy, two counts of battery on an officer and obstructing or depriving that officer with means of protection or communication.
