Two Broward men are accused of defrauding homeowners by promising mortgage relief that never came, while pocketing $3.5 million from the homeowners.
According to an article in the Sun Sentinel, Bryan Berry and Blair Wright ran Outreach Housing LLC, which advertised mortgage loan modifications on television and on the radio. The organization, however, turned out to be bogus. More than 900 property owners signed up for Outreach Housing’s mortgage relief program, and were persuaded to stop paying their mortgages in lieu of the company’s services.
In order to secure their mortgage loan modifications, many of the property owners paid Wright and Berry up front and then waited for the banks to approve the loan modifications. Due to this fraud, several people lost their homes.
