A three-mile police chase on Saturday resulted on one woman being arrested and another in the hospital.
According to an article in the Sun Sentinel, a Broward deputy pulled over a Mazda sedan for a traffic stop around 5 pm. The car was occupied by Maryfe Del Pilar Nino and her boyfriend. When deputies discovered Nino had several warrants out fo rher arrest, the ordered Nino out of the car. She complied and exited the car along with her boyfriend. Nino, however, quickly got back into the car and took off.
A deputy drove after her. Nino ran a red light and hit a small SUV. The woman in the SUV was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and Nino was arrested. Nino now faces charges from the chase and crash in addition to the charges of resisting arrest with violence, battery on an officer, escaping and narcotics and resisting that she already faced.
