A suspected car thief left his cell phone inside a stolen vehicle with his Facebook page open.

According to an article in the Sun Sentinel, a West Palm Beach police officer spotted a man he had dealt with before. The man was driving a car, and the officer knew that he never had a driver’s license. The man then sped away, but ended up crashing into a parked car and wall. He ran away, but left his phone charging in the vehicle. On the phone was a recently created Facebook post.

Police found the man a block away. He told police he ran because he did not have a driver’s license. He now faces charges of larceny, driving and probation violation.
