A Lake Worth man is accused of maintaining an elaborate marijuana growing operation inside the home he and his girlfriend shared with two children.

According to an article in the Sun Sentinel, the man claimed his girlfriend was not involved in the growing operation, and was told not to go into the parts of the house where the plants were kept. In a room connected to the master bedroom, SWAT team members found eight, six-foot tall marijuana plants under high-intensity lights.  Attached to that room was another room containing two plants along with fertilizer and cropping tools.

The children living at the house were aged 17 years and 22 months. The suspects told deputies that the baby slept in the master bedroom four times a week. The suspects were charged with keeping a house for manufacturing marijuana with a minor present and child neglect because deputies say they found the suspects keeping the baby in an unsecured car seat while driving.
