An Oakland Park man faces grand theft charges after he allegedly defrauded South Florida tourists.
According to an article in the Sun Sentinel, the man is accused of collecting around $180,000 from the tourists, but only spent around $7,000 on tickets and travel plans. He is suspected of keeping the money for nonexistent cruises, flights and vacations. While in court, the judge called one of the customers to determine whether that customer ever received a refund. The details of the phone conversation were not revealed.
