A Delray Beach man faces burglary charges after sleeping off a hangover in an apartment that wasn’t his.
According to an article in the Sun Sentinel, a real estate agent called 911 after finding the man. The agent tried to then lock him in the apartment, but he ran out and into the pool. Deputies found him there, where he gave them a fake name. However, a credit card and fingerprint scan revealed his actual identity.
The man told deputies that he was drunk and needed a place to sleep it off. A friend pried open the door of the apartment where he was found. Deputies found out that the man actually lived 200 feet from the apartment, and that he already had a warrant out for his arrest. He now faces charges of burglary, criminal mischief, failure to appear and probation violation.
