A Lake Worth man is accused of stealing candy from a gas station before swiping a bag out of a car.
According to an article from the Sun Sentinel, Carmine Rozzo was caught on a security camera hiding items from the candy aisle in his pants at a Sunoco gas station. After he purchased a soda and left, he reached into a Jeep Patriot and removed a black bag. The bag contained a laptop, iPad and textbooks, all valued at more than $700. He then got into a Volkswagen and left.
Police found his car parked at a duplex on Kirk Road. After speaking with Rozzo’s girlfriend, police discovered that he had borrowed the car from her. She had found the textbooks and called Palm Beach State College in order to return them. Rozzo later called police and said he was working with a bail-bondsman in order to surrender.
