A driver has been arrested following the November 7 crash that killed one person.
According to an article in the Sun Sentinel, Karmela Roy of West Palm Beach was driving her 2005 Dodge pickup truck east along Northlake Boulevard at 85 mph when she drifted into the westbound lanes. She hit a Honda Accord being driven by Penni Conroy. Conroy’s passenger, Thomas Conroy, was killed.
The impact of the crash was so great that it ripped the Accord in half from front to back. A blood test for Roy showed that she had cocaine in her system along with anxiety and pain killer drugs. Roy faces DUI, homicide, probation violation and other charges.
