A burglary suspect was shot in the leg on Sunday morning in Plantation.

According to an article in the Sun Sentinel, the burglary suspect was going through a green Mercedes-Benz when the car-owner’s boyfriend caught him. Knowing that there was a firearm located in the car, the boyfriend went to retrieve a second handgun. Believing that the burglar could be armed with the gun from the car, the boyfriend then shot the suspect in the leg. The suspect was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Police also found property from the Mercedes-Benz in the suspect’s possession.

There are charges pending against the burglary suspect. Detectives are still determining whether or not the shooter will face criminal charges.
