A Boynton Beach man is accused of stealing a bike from outside the Delray Beach library and then posting it on Craigslist.

The bike, which was worth $359, was posted on Craigslist for $60. The thief’s phone number was listed on the ad. When he was arrested, he told police he stole the bike in support his drug addiction.

In an unrelated bike theft, a restaurant worker stepped outside for a break and saw a man using pliers to try and unlock his bike. The worker yelled at the man, who then fled. The worker called police, who were able to apprehend the man, and found the pliers on him. The man proceeded to yell profanities at police officers and called the bike cheap.

The first thief faces charges of larceny and dealing in stolen property. The second faces charges of larceny and threats against a police officer.
