22-Year-Old Man Shot And Killed In A Miami-Dade Police-Involved Shooting

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla.– On Thursday, 22-year-old Kentrill Carraway was shot and killed by a Miami-Dade police detective in northwest Miami-Dade County.

Detective Marjorie Eloi told that the shooting happened around 4 p.m. at the Northwest 76th Street and Northwest 20th Avenue.

Carraway was transferred to Jackson Memorial Hospital immediately but was pronounced dead at the hospital. Carraway was shot in the back due to which he died.

A narcotics case was under investigation when Carraway was shot by Detective George Eugene, who has been working for the Miami-Dade Police Department’s gang unit for almost 9 years.

The cops were busy in the investigation when they saw a few men in the back of a residence and approached them. Carraway and Eugene started arguing with each other when Carraway pulled out a gun; Eugene gave him the order to drop it, but he didn’t obey which forced the detective to shoot him. Eugene was on-duty and was wearing full uniform when he shot Carraway.

Carraway’s family was in deep sorrow which they showed through teary eyes as they gathered outside of Ryder Trauma Center.

Terry Carraway said, “I’m here and they still won’t let me see my own son”.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement is still investigating the shooting case.
